Next was Charlottesville, Va. That’s where Monticello is. We got there very early and the Airbnb cottage was having the AC serviced (believe me, it wasn.t needed for our stay) so we decided to go directly to Monticello before we checked in. Glad we did! We highly recommend this visit. We were able to go into the house as well as see Thomas Jefferson’s grave site. Since it is on a mountaintop, we used the shuttle they had. I had the mobility scooter for me.
Eventually checked into this cute bungalow. Glad we did Monticello on the day of arrival as it rained all day on the 23rd.
Then our COLDS set in! It was horrible! Had to leave and go to Virginia Beach.
NOTE from The Usual Suspects Messenger: We went to visit Tom at his abode in Monticello and have a chance to chat with him and take his picture standing there in the middle of the lawn. Hogs and cows from Polyface farm send their regards and I couldn't resist taking a picture of Jerry with the mountain background. Cheers !
