Orlando, Florida - April 15th - 18th

Arrived in Orlando and went to Stella's house and met with her and her family and Kenna. The family just returned from a drive to San Diego and back. Kenna was visiting Stella at the house for a week or so. We chatted and took the tour. What a beautiful home and grounds. Can watch the sunset every evening with a follow-up of the Disneyworld fireworks every night.

We went to a great Chinese restaurant as a group and had authentic Chinese food. It was delicious! Then Stella wanted to treat Lilia and me to Bubble Tea. It was good, except I wasn't too sure about the "bubbles" which are actually tapioca balls (about the size of a marble and soft). Back to Stella's and chatted and played with the baby. We left to go check into our Airbnb around 6:30. The Airbnb is located in the Juno Winter Park Apartments facility.

We believe that we are the first people to use this apartment as an Airbnb. The place is awesome, with indoor parking and necessary amenities. The balcony overlooks an open air atrium with pool, bar, sitting areas, hammock, sand, etc. Settled in.

On Saturday we got moving late. Left here to go to CVS & Walmart at 11:00. Then went to Stella's to pick up Kenna and also give Andrew & Stella the photo album & gift from their engagement I created. We took Kenna to her mom's house and chatted for awhile. Then, because the wheel my ECV had been delivered, it was installed. Kenna's step dad did the hard part. Lilia and I invited them to dinner at Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill in Port Canaveral. Food was delicious.

April 17, 2022 - Easter Sunday. Happy Easter and Passover and Ramadan. Lilia and I watched the Easter Service at the Vatican this morning. First time either of us have seen it. Wow, what pomp and circumstance! It was beautiful.

We then went to Mount Dora, a little town outside of Orlando. We parked by the waterfront and took a walk along the boardwalk along the water and through the trees and bushes. Saw many animals, including an Alligator, Pileated Woodpecker, Turtles, Lizards and many birds I can't identify. That evening we had an horrific lightening storm. Even lost electric in the complex for a few hours.

Today, the 18th, we decided to go to the Harry P. Leu Gardens and have a relaxing day among the foliage. I can't say enough about this experience. There is no way to describe it. There are so many different trees, bushes, shrubs, flowers and plants, along with specialty gardens such as the White Garden, Butterfly Garden, Herb Garden, Idea Garden, Tropical Stream Garden, Vegetable Garden, Rose Garden, arid Garden and Color Garden. Hate to say this, but I liked it more than Longwood Gardens because, even though it is 50 acres, it feels more compact (not small).

Stopped on the way home and picked up a pizza at Marcos Pizza and some groceries.

I just decided to split this stay in Orlando up into more than one post, otherwise it will become too big.

NOTE from the Usual Suspects text messenger: I will fix the scooter today and visit Kenna's mom. See Kenna, Stella, Stella's mom also. We have a very nice apartment for this stay in Orlando. / We will definitely try Fish Lips. / Went to Fishlips yesterday. What a hopping area! Food was delicious. There are many restaurants to visit right there. Also fixed the chariot yesterday. / Jerry the gator whisperer and that bird, unknown to Mr., drying his wings. /  Good morning señora Jefa! We have been following your advice and it has been great. On Saturday we had dinner at Fishlips, Yum! It was awesome Yesterday we walked all over Mount Dora. What a beautiful place. Ended the adventure at a Cuban restaurant with excellent food also. Guess we are taking it easy, my poor feet need a break, we'll drive around the neighborhood and if we see something interesting we'll park and explore. / We are at the Juno in Winter Park. Very nice, comfortable place. We'll be here for another week or so, and then we are going to Miami. / Thank you my friend. We'll check the canal rides and try to befriend some gators. We could start a new tourist attraction named "swim with the alligators". / Composition of white orchids with Jerry by the side. Circa 2022. Taking a stand by the bamboo stand. Really no averaging. Just cold until we got to Orlando. We were even in places that set records for cold while we were there. Actually it will be cold (75+ degrees) here in Orlando for the rest of the week. I guess... Jerry is complaining about the temp here, only 70 degrees and he's cold. Plenty warm for me though.
